While here in Savannah, be sure to try the following Southern foods and beverages:

• Boiled Peanuts:  Preferably hot - straight out of the pot from a roadside stand.  Don't get them from a convenience store or from a can.  It's just not the same.
• Sweet tea:  Be prepared, 'cause when we say "sweet", we mean it. 
• Grits:  Try them with cheese and bacon.   Mmmm!
• Greens: Collard greens flavored with ham hocks.  Again, it's best to get this made locally, not from a can.
